WEll since I am not very creative with words I decided I wanted to make something from the heart for him so I decided to do a cross stitch for him (the only crafty thing I can do LOL) and it was the verse 'Footprints' and I stitched a little dedication at the bottom to him and framed it and it looked pretty nice if I say so myself. I have never given anything away like that before because I never thought they were good enough, but he has made me realize it is...
And it should be there in 2-5 days so he might get it when he is back there in Australia..I asked his sister and she said he would definately receive it (when I don't know) but I hope he likes it...

Oh yeah, I remember you mentioning that. I'm sure he'll love it - I have Footprints written on a card in my purse, so I carry it around with me a lot of the time It's such a comforting poem.

I love Footprints. Our teacher let us take it down in our Religion books for the summer tests, and I think it's a lovely verse. I'm sure he'll love it

my little gift for Darren out today in the mail. It is going to cost a fortune to send it from the US to Australia so I hope he gets it...even if he doesn't like it I will be happy if he at least sees it...

Thanks...I hope you are right. Our postal service is pretty good about getting things where they are meant to go...but I will insure it just in case..not that it is actually worth much really..just my time..

It took me a couple weeks to do it, but it was not non-stop. It probably took me about 6 hours total to do it. My grandmother and my mother are both crafty people..my grandmother quilts, knits, crochets and all that and so does my mother and all I can do is cross stitch LOL The must be the talent skipped my generation.
I did not know his religious affiliation (and I am not an overly religious person myself) but I always find that verse comforting.
I am in the process of doing another project for my friend who is getting married next year..but I will be done it probably this weekend.
